Supachai Kriangkrai
Silom, Bangkok
Brought in a Seiko 5 that had been running about two minutes slow per day for most of the year. Khun Wanchai opened it up, explained what he found, and gave me a written estimate before anything was agreed. The watch came back running within about ten seconds per day across positions. The service record he provided is a nice touch — something I hadn't seen from other shops.

My grandmother's Longines needed a new crystal and the crown was difficult to pull out. The team fitted a period-appropriate mineral crystal and replaced the crown and stem. It felt new again without looking too new, which was exactly what I wanted for a 1960s piece. Turnaround was about ten days. Only reason not five stars is that I had to follow up once to check on progress, but the communication after that was fine.

Anuwat Thammakoson
Chiang Mai
Sent a pocket watch by courier from Chiang Mai — a Swiss movement from the early 1900s that my father had kept in a drawer for thirty years. Rattanakosin sent me a detailed assessment within a week of receiving it, including photographs and a written proposal. The restoration took two months, which they had estimated from the beginning. It now keeps reliable time and the dial is intact. I appreciated the honesty throughout.

I had been putting off getting my Omega Seamaster serviced for a few years. Brought it to Phra Athit after reading about Rattanakosin on a forum. The workshop is small and serious — not a retail counter. The service took three weeks and the improvement in accuracy was clear from the documentation. They also noticed the case gasket was deteriorated and replaced it at no additional cost, which I wasn't expecting.

Sukhumvit, Bangkok (expat)
As someone who collects vintage Japanese automatics, I've tried several workshops in Bangkok without much satisfaction. Rattanakosin is the exception. They know their way around Seiko and Orient movements from the 1970s, which not every watchmaker in Thailand does. The communication is also in clear English if needed, which I found very helpful. Will be returning with another piece shortly.

Good work and fair pricing. I brought two watches — one for an accuracy service and one just for a crystal replacement. Both were handled professionally and I received service notes for each. The location near Phra Athit pier is convenient if you come by boat. The shop itself is modest but the work is careful. Would recommend to anyone who wants their watch treated properly rather than just quickly.

A Few Representative Pieces
A 1958 Tissot Automatic — Inactive for Over a Decade
The Situation
A Bangkok architect brought in her late father's Tissot — a Swiss automatic from the late 1950s that had not run for approximately twelve years. The mainspring appeared set and the dial had some age-related spotting she was concerned about.
The Work
Following a written assessment and agreed plan, the movement was fully serviced with a new mainspring. The dial was carefully cleaned without disturbance to its ageing patina. The original crystal was retained as it showed only minor wear appropriate to the piece's age.
The Outcome
The watch now runs within +12 seconds per day. The dial patina is preserved. The client wears it regularly and has since brought a second piece for assessment. Duration from receipt to return: six weeks.
"I hadn't expected them to be so careful about the dial. They explained exactly what they would and wouldn't do, and why. That kind of clarity was reassuring."
Omega Constellation — Accuracy Service After Seven Years
The Situation
An Omega Constellation brought in by a Silom-based professional who had noticed increasing deviation — gaining roughly 45 seconds per day. The watch had last been serviced by the manufacturer some seven years prior.
The Work
Full movement service: disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, re-lubrication to Omega specifications, and multi-position regulation. Pre-service rate: +42 seconds/day dial up. Post-service rate: +5 seconds/day across five positions.
The Outcome
The client received written rate readings before and after. Service warranty issued. Duration: three weeks. Client has since referred two colleagues to the workshop.
"The before and after timing sheet was exactly what I needed for insurance purposes. They thought to provide it without being asked."
IWC Portofino — Crystal and Full Case Resealing
The Situation
The sapphire crystal on an IWC Portofino had received a significant impact crack from a door frame accident. The crown was also mildly loose. The owner was concerned about water resistance before an upcoming trip.
The Work
A correctly sized aftermarket sapphire crystal was sourced and fitted. The crown was tightened and the original stem confirmed in good condition. All gaskets replaced. Dry pressure test conducted — case held within rated specification.
The Outcome
Watch returned within eight days. Pressure test result provided in writing. Total cost within the estimate agreed before work began. The client wore it on a diving trip shortly after without incident.
"Quick, thorough, and they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. When I asked if the movement needed attention, they checked and said honestly that it did not."
