These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Rattanakosin Horology ("we", "us", or "our"), based at 27 Phra Athit Road, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand, and any person ("you" or "the customer") who requests a service assessment, entrusts a watch to our care, or uses our website at rattanas.cyou.
By using our website or proceeding with a service, you accept these terms. If you have any questions before doing so, please contact us — we are happy to clarify anything.
A brief note on our approach: we aim to work transparently at every stage. Nothing proceeds without your agreement, and we will always explain our findings and proposed work clearly before you decide.
1. Services Offered
We offer watch repair and restoration services, including but not limited to:
- Service and accuracy adjustment — movement cleaning, lubrication, and rate regulation.
- Crystal, crown and seal renewal — replacement of worn external components and case resealing.
- Heritage watch restoration — in-depth conservation and sympathetic repair of inherited or collectible pieces.
Prices listed on our website are indicative starting figures. A firm quotation is provided only after an in-person assessment or detailed discussion, as the condition of each watch varies. No work is carried out until a written quotation has been accepted by the customer.
2. Estimates and Quotations
All written quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. A quotation constitutes an offer; acceptance by the customer, whether in writing, by email, or verbally, creates a binding agreement for us to carry out the described work at the agreed price.
Should we discover additional work required during the course of a service, we will pause and communicate this to you before proceeding. We do not carry out unquoted work without your approval, and you are free to collect the watch in its current state should you prefer not to proceed.
3. Acceptance of Watches for Service
When you leave a watch with us, we will prepare a condition report noting visible condition, any existing damage, and the agreed scope of work. We ask that you review and sign this report before leaving the watch. This protects both parties and ensures there is a clear shared understanding of the watch's condition at the time of receipt.
If you send a watch by post or courier, please contact us in advance. We accept no liability for damage in transit.
4. Turnaround Times
Estimated turnaround times vary by service type and are provided in good faith at the time of quotation. They are not binding commitments. Complexity, parts availability, and workshop schedule may affect actual completion time. We will communicate proactively if a delay is expected, and we appreciate your understanding that measured, careful work does not always conform to a fixed calendar.
5. Collection and Uncollected Watches
You will be notified by telephone or email when your watch is ready for collection. We ask that watches be collected within 60 days of this notification. After this period, storage may not be available. Watches left uncollected for more than 6 months, despite repeated reasonable attempts to contact the owner, may at our discretion be subject to a storage charge or, in exceptional cases, disposed of in accordance with applicable Thai law.
6. Payment
Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch, unless alternative arrangements have been made in writing. We accept cash in Thai Baht and major payment methods as indicated at the time of collection. Ownership of any replaced parts, and the completed watch itself, remains with us until payment is received in full.
7. Service Warranty
We stand behind our workmanship and provide a service warranty on the specific work carried out, as noted on your service receipt. This warranty covers defects in our work and does not extend to normal wear and tear, subsequent misuse, accidental damage, or issues arising from unrelated parts of the movement that were outside the agreed scope of work.
Warranty terms and duration vary by service type and will be communicated clearly on the receipt.
8. Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the value of the agreed service fee. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including but not limited to sentimental value, loss of use, or business loss.
We treat every watch in our care with the same standard of attention we would give our own. We carry professional insurance for watches in our custody, and will discuss specific concerns with you openly should they arise.
9. Intellectual Property
All text, images, and design elements on our website are the property of Rattanakosin Horology or used with appropriate permission. You may not reproduce them without prior written consent.
10. Website Use
Our website is provided for informational purposes. While we take care to ensure accuracy, we cannot warrant that all information is complete or current at all times. We reserve the right to make changes to our website content and these terms without prior notice.
We are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on information on this website or from disruption to its availability.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute arising in connection with them shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our website or services after a revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
